‘US to Iran: In case of Israeli strike, don’t fire on our bases’ - The Times of Israel
Washington tells Tehran that it will not join in an Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear program, Yedioth Ahronoth reports
The United States has no intention of joining in a preemptive Israeli strike on Iran and expects the Islamic Republic to refrain from attacking US targets in the case of such an attack, senior Washington officials told their Iranian counterparts, according to a report in Yedioth Ahronoth on Monday.
In recent days, senior administration officials reportedly sent messages to Iran, through diplomats from two European states, addressing the possibility that Israel would launch a unilateral strike and establishing that the US expects Iran to not draw it into a conflict by firing on American army bases and aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf.
Monday’s report came amid widespread debate over the level of coordination between Israel and the US on halting Iran’s nuclear program, which — despite assurances by US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro on Sunday that the relationship is as good as ever — appeared to be strained.
While Israel has warned that the Iranians are quickly approaching a potential weapons capability and that the use of force must be seriously considered, the US says sanctions and international diplomacy must be given more time to work.
Highlighting the disagreement between the two countries on the use of force were reports of a scaling-down of joint US-Israel missile defense exercises in October, and public comments by the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey, who said last Thursday that he did not want to be “complicit” in an Israeli attack on Iran.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at criticism of the US position on Iran, telling ministers at the weekly Cabinet meeting that the international community has failed to send a clear message to Iran regarding its nuclear program. Netanyahu said that while international sanctions have harmed Tehran, they haven’t done “anything to stall the progress of the nuclear program.”

Mitt Romney is the GOP nominee, and Conservatism Inc. is jubilant—or, at least, it says it’s jubilant. But what if the upcoming election contest against President Barack Obama just doesn’t matter?

Perhaps it’s fate: the region where the Civil War reached its fratricidal climax could provide the blueprint for what Brimelow suggested was Americans’ future—fighting, in this case through secession, to salvage something from the wreck.
Report: Diversity Policies = Legalized Discrimination
In a healthy society, where aspiration and excellence is reflected in its institutions, this wouldn't happen. It needs to be fixed.
Roger Clegg, general counsel for the neoconservative Center for Equal Opportunity, and John Rosenberg, who writes the “Discriminations” blog, also argue that diversity policies reinforce stereotypes about blacks, put many in a position where they are doomed to fail, and harm Asians by keeping them out of top flight schools.
In August, the high court agreed to hear the case of Fisher v. University of Texas. Abigail Fisher sued the school because it refused her admission while permitting minority students with lower grades to matriculate. She argued that the policy violates her rights under the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled against her, and she appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Clegg and Rosenberg offer 10 reasons why the court should decide in favor of Fisher’s lawsuit against UT. Academic Questions, the journal of the conservative National Association of Scholars, published their article in its fall issue.
Tops among them is that arguments for diversity as part of a “holistic” approach to admissions, meaning it is one of many factors a university considers when considering an applicant, are nonsense.
“Whether prosaically defined as affirmative action or disguised by the powdered and perfumed sophistry of supposedly ‘holistic’ admissions practices (where, it is claimed, race is 'only one of many factors' considered), ‘diversity’ is discrimination based on race and ethnicity,” the pair write.
Even worse, the two argue, diversity ideology’s sole “purpose and effect” is to admit those “who who would not have been selected but for their race or ethnicity. And that means, inescapably, that an equal number of others were not selected because of their race or ethnicity.”Clegg and Rosenberg claim that defenders of diversity “are in denial” that such policies discriminate against whites and Asians, and amazingly, have “redefined ‘discrimination,’ asserting that discrimination occurs only when it harms a group, not individuals.” The National Association for the Advance of Colored People argued thusly in the case of Grutter v. Bollinger in 2003. That decision permitted the University of Michigan to discriminate on the basis of race under the guise of “diversity.” A lawyer with the NAACP wrote that because the university’s student body was “at least 80 percent white, so it isn't credible to claim that it or its affirmative action policy discriminates against whites as a group.
“Diversity” policies then, the authors argue, are a euphemism for racial quotas or “patently illegal race norming — putting minorities in a separate pool, judging them only against other members of the pool, and accepting a certain (even if indeterminate) number of them.”

US - More Sanctions & Military Games Planned For Iran
In addition to increasing US naval activity in the region, Washington is also preparing to intensify economic sanctions against Iran’s oil industry, the New York Times reported.
The US – along with 25 other countries – will conduct extensive joint minesweeping exercises in the Persian Gulf in October. The move aims to increase pressure on Iran and prevent it from closing the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has also scheduled war games for this autumn, which are intended to dissuade the international community against an attack.
Washington is currently treading a fine line in the Israel-Iran dispute amid increasingly hawkish rhetoric from the Israeli government, which is pressing for an immediate strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The Obama administration has urged Israel to refrain from military action and allow more time for diplomatic initiative. On Sunday, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanhayu called on world leaders to draw a “clear red line” for action against Iranian nuclear activities.
Israel has criticized Washington for its perceived unwillingness to back an Israeli strike against Iran’s nuclear program.
A UN report released on Thursday said that although Iran had more than doubled the number of centrifuges in its fortified underground facility at Fordo since May, the new machines are still not operational. Israel and the US accuse Iran of enriching uranium for in order to build atomic weapons. Iran denies the claims, maintaining that its nuclear activities are purely for civilian purposes.
The Israeli PM cited the new centrifuges as overwhelming evidence that the sanctions implemented by the US and other western countries had been ineffective.
"The report confirms what I have been saying for a long time, international sanctions are a burden on Iran's economy but they are not in any way delaying the advancement of Iran's nuclear program," Netanyahu said.
The Obama administration has faced increasing criticism from Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for being "soft’"on Iran.
Romney previously stated that he would never allow Iran the capability to produce weapons-grade uranium. He also slammed Obama’s diplomatic stance on Iran, accusing him of endangering the US and alienating Israel.
The Obama administration is also weighing the use of covert espionage and direct military action, the New York Times reported.

Apple was granted a patent last week that will enable it to wirelessly disable the camera on iphones in certain locations, sparking fears that such techniques could be used to prevent citizens from communicating with each other or taking video during protests or events such as political conventions and gatherings.
The camera phone has revolutionized the flow of information in the digital age. Any time a major event takes place, news networks and video websites are immediately inundated with footage and photographs from the scene.
That could all change in the future however, with a flick of a switch, according to U.S. Patent No. 8,254,902, published on Tuesday, titled, “Apparatus and methods for enforcement of policies upon a wireless device.”
It states:
In other words, an encoded signal could be transmitted to all wireless devices, commanding them to disable recording functions. Obviously, the way this will be applied will depend on what is determined to be a “sensitive area” by the relevant authorities.
To put it bluntly, the powers that be could control what you can and cannot document on your wireless devices according to their own whims.
Given that the major technology companies are set to make wireless connectivity a major feature of the latest cameras, this development does not bode well for photographers and citizen journalists who are already experiencing a major crackdown on their first and fourth amendment rights.

Our young people are #1 in a lot of global categories, but almost all of them are bad. Young people in the United States are more obese than anyone else in the world, more sexually active than anyone else in the world and they become pregnant more often than anyone else in the world. Of course it probably doesn't help that we have the highest divorce rate in the world either. Our families are a complete and total mess, and it is our kids that are paying the price. One top of everything else, we have accumulated a 16 trillion dollar debt which we will be handing down to the next generation. I am sure that they will appreciate that.

“He was basically left for dead,” Bakre told a television reporter. “I don’t want to go into, like, all the gory details, but, um, they could have stopped, and they kept going….One of them was making racial comments toward us and the other was blowing kisses, so it was very, it was a very aggravating situation to be in.”
“I didn’t wanna just be like, like, freak out on them, because I thought they were sayin’ something to me,” Quade told a reporter. “I was just trying to gain, you know, a little more knowledge about the situation, and before we could even do that, there was just, BAM-BAM,” said Quade, who may be the same person designated by the same TV station as a “Top Teen” in 2006. Quade reportedly refused to be filmed on camera because his face looked even worse than in gruesome photos that were snapped at the hospital. A full week after the attack, Quade’s condition continued to worsen, and he was flown to Atlanta to undergo eye surgery.
“I just hope they get caught, really,” Bakre said. “I just hope justice prevails at the end of the day. And this shouldn’t happen in this day and age. I know we’re in the South and all that yadda-ya, but, I don’t know, it’s time for a change, I think.”
Interesting she should mention the South, a place that is never stereotyped for black-on-white “hate crimes.” The South is known as a place where drooling hillbillies rape you and you shouldn’t “trust your soul to no backwoods Southern lawyer.” It’s also where Emmett Till was murdered for allegedly “wolf-whistling” at a white woman.

But searching their names late Sunday afternoon on Google News—which supposedly documents what’s happening now—yielded more than 75 hits for “Emmett Till” for every instance of “Andrew Quade.”
Why is that? And why is it considered racist to so much as wonder why? Has all this jibber-jabber about “equality” merely been a power-grabbing wolf in sheep’s clothing?
I called the Savannah Police Department’s non-emergency line to verify the date that Andrew Quade was assaulted, and a woman who sounded black—kill me for stereotyping—said, “Oh, you mean the hate crime?” But Georgia is one of only five states with no hate-crime law, so it’s up to US Attorney General Eric Holder to prosecute the incident under federal hate-crime statutes. Unless you want to die of auto-idiotic asphyxiation, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Living in Georgia, I’ve heard repeated murmurs that there is no place in the state thicker with racial tension than Savannah. It’s presumed that blacks still harbor resentment for the slave era as well as their infamous betrayal near Savannah at the hands of a Union general whose name, in the bitterest of ironies, was Jefferson Davis.

Greece's Golden Dawn gains support as other parties fall
The latest poll shows that support for the far-left has declined over the summer, whilst the far-right has gained support. Golden Dawn (Chrysi Avgi) has come out of nowhere to become the fourth largest political party in Greece, with a larger support base than the Democratic Left which forms part of the coalition government.
This is in spite of concerted efforts in the international press to depict Golden Dawn as neo-Nazi, while supporters view it as nationalistic rather than extreme. The party maintains the attempts to malign them are not only ridiculous slander but libelous, noting the Greek people now understand correctly that they are a Nationalistic movement. Their continued distribution of food to needy Greeks suffering under austerity measures, has gained them support, though their efforts have been criticized as they only provide food to Greek citizens.

Something evil in these pages lurks: the verminous reality reversers of Forty Second Street published not one but two major articles in today's Sunday Times, extolling their own virtuous role in the Great Replacement that is occurring in the USA (and in all of the soon-to-be-"formerly-white" Western world, actually), specifically with regard to under-age NAM illegal immigrants.
The first article was entitled "Young And Alone, Facing Court, Tears And Deportation", it was penned by Times communist Julia Preston (but of course), and it featured right there on the front page, this photo of a creepily cute little Latino reverse-occupier clutching a subliminally blue-eyed white doll) :
When will they be happy? NAMs like little Liliana here already outnumber white and asian births in Texas; in California her kind are already the majority, young and old alike; in New York York City her kind will be a majority of all new births within a few short years. Meanwhile in London the top name among newborns is "Mohammed" (spelled six different ways) and in Paris more than half of all births in 2011 were to african mothers.

African-American Hero Jesse Jackson Defends A ‘Brother’ Basketball Rapist
STILLWATER – Coming in a “spirit of mercy,” veteran civil rights leader Jesse Jackson said he will speak at a public forum Thursday on behalf of a former Oklahoma State University basketball player recently was convicted of rape and sexual assault.
Jackson, a minister, heads the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, which has its national headquarters in Chicago.
Darrell Williams, also of Chicago, was convicted July 23 of two counts of rape by instrumentation and one count of sexual assault. Jailed since the convictions, he is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Payne County District Court.
“We’re not coming in a spirit of combat,” Jackson said Wednesday in a telephone interview. “We’re coming in a spirit of mercy. We hope the judge will hear our appeal about this young man.”

Let me tell you something that PISSED me the HELL off last week. This American man and wife spent $200,000 traveling back and forth to Israel, while also paying the traveling expenses for witnesses in a civil suit they brought against the Israeli military for running a bulldozer over their own flesh and blood daughter.
What did they seek in damages from Israel? ONE FRIGGIN,’ LOUSY GD DOLLAR. That’s right. A symbolic $1 dollar. And the Israeli court had the nerve to throw the case out, calling it an “accident!”
Rachel Corrie was run over as she tried to stop the Zionist bastards from destroying a Palestinian home (which they do all the time, for the least reasons). The driver claimed he didn’t see her. Right. I’ve seen the pictures (below). There is absolutely no way the man missed seeing her. They ordered him to run the brave girl down, sure as I’m sitting here. “Kill the best of us” is one of their Talmudic injunctions.
Did the US media report on the case? What, are you kidding me? I don’t think they even said a word when the girl was killed. Few Americans even know her name. I first saw the news about the Rachel Corrie suit case getting dismissed on the Internet (Mark Glenn’s The Ugly Truth site). Oh, wait, they did mention it on the little ticker tape thing FOX news has at the bottom of the screen. That took about three lousy seconds to scroll by. Does anyone ever really get any news from there?

Debauchery and Hypocrisy to Take Center Stage at DNC
Fresh on the heels of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, the Democratic wing of the one-party bird is set to begin their own three-day circus party in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. As is the case every year, both parties either have or will be accompanied with the symbols of freedom that every American has come to know and love – militarized police, random checkpoints, warrantless searches, and a virtual lockdown of the entire area surrounding the convention.
Of course, while the average person who lives, works, and produces in the general area is subjected to, at best, a major inconvenience of their daily routine and, at worst, a gross violation of their Constitutional rights under a police state crackdown, many of the more upscale attendees of the DNC will enjoy what amounts to royal immunity as they skirt about town and partake of some of the finest women (or men) and drugs that money can buy.
The difference between the 2012 DNC and all the others, however, is the openness in which both the revelry and police state will take place. For instance, even the local Charlotte media is openly publishing articles about the annual powder party known as the DNC.
A local publication, Creative Loafing, actually published an article by Christina Wilkie and Ryan Pitkin, entitled “Dirty Politics: Charlotte’s underground hungrily awaits the DNC,” where the authors interviewed individuals ranging from small time drug dealers to police and club owners. What they reported was that virtually all of the Charlotte “underworld” was eagerly awaiting the coming convention in hopes that bulk sales and wealthy partiers will provide easy and plentiful money during the three days of the event.
Thomas is a local nightclub promoter who knows well the habits of his clientele. Because of the risk – and grave consequences – that come with transporting drugs across state lines, Thomas says many visitors will be on the hunt during the convention. The DNC is expected to bring 35,000 people to Charlotte, including some 5,000 delegates and VIPs, 15,000 journalists, and another 15,000 staffers, volunteers, security personnel, tourists, protesters, and vendors.
The article continues by saying,
Thomas – whose name has been changed – says the fancy suits of powerful politicians and executives can be deceiving when it comes to partaking in drugs and other vice. ‘There are so many people you wouldn’t expect,’ Thomas says. ‘Lawyers, doctors, bankers. For me, it’s actually more rare to find someone who doesn’t do any of it.’
Yet, as the Wilkie and Pitkin article states, “For some conventioneers, it isn’t what they’ll be bringing back to their private parties – it’s who.”
According to Charity Magnuson, the operator of the nonprofit organization NC Stop Human Trafficking, "There will be women for sale and most of them will have been trafficked one way or another."
However, with all the incoming money set aside for purchasing illegal drugs, the article claims that the word on the street is that drugs entering the Charlotte area have “dried up” in recent weeks.

On reading the The FP 50:The 50 most powerful Republicans on foreign policy, I found myself compelled to suggest that people re-read my article “Would Romney Pursue a Neocon War Agenda?”
In the article I illustrate the neocons who have surrounded Romney and the hardline war positions he has taken.
I write:
“Given that Romney’s identification with the neocons and their hardline policies is likely motivated by opportunism rather than conviction, shouldn’t he now be expected to change to a more moderate position for the general election, which he would continue as President? These factors must be considered, but Romney has gone so far in his involvement with the neocons that it would be very difficult for him to extricate himself from their war agenda without serious negative repercussions for himself. The neocons and their wealthy supporters expect him to pursue a policy in line with their thinking, at least in key areas such as Iran, Syria, and Israel.
It must be remembered that the neocons are very influential in the conservative media, best represented by Fox News. Should they turn on him for deserting their Middle East agenda, their criticism of him would likely resonate with the Republican base, which was never too keen about him in the first place, and thus undermine his administration.
Since it is doubtful that Romney would be able to attract substantial support from independents and Democrats by a more moderate foreign policy stance, his alienation of the neocons, with their power over the Republican base, could leave him with virtually no significant support. It would thus seem that Romney, out of personal self-interest, would need to keep his wagon tied to the neocons, trying to ameliorate some of their most extreme positions.
This approach definitely would mean that much stronger measures would be taken against Iran than have been implemented so far, and if the United States did not actually initiate war over Iran’s nuclear program, it would engage in belligerent tactics that would inevitably lead to war.

In 2008 the Washington Post published an article titled “Washington’s Future, a History.” The article used the insight of two panels of experts who looked into the future 17 years from 2008. The Post’s article is a “fictional” account of a future Washington D.C. in which “small scale” terror attacks and angry rioters plague the streets and implantable ID chips allow government workers to pass through checkpoints.
Many of the scenarios depicted were foreseen by the alternative media and other well informed researchers well before the Washington Post. It didn’t take a crystal ball or otherworldly powers to discern what was coming. Government white papers and open statements foreshadowed plans for the construction of a surveillance society, a rising police state, and the implementation of martial law as globalization and economic collapse destroyed America.
A 2008 report from the Army War College titled Known Unknowns: Unconventional Strategic Shocks in Defense Strategy Development stated that “Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security…” This response would come after “… unforeseen economic collapse, loss of functioning political and legal order…”

Pakistani authorities have arrested a Muslim cleric for the suspected set up of a young girl, reported to have Down's Syndrome, accused of burning pages of a Koran.

President Announces Open Season On Combat Veterans

EXECUTIVE ORDER
IMPROVING ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR VETERANS, SERVICE MEMBERS, AND MILITARY FAMILIES
There have many stories on how veterans have been “helped” by the VA and other hospitals. It’s the kind of help no one wants.
Mr. Obama wants to see by the end of this year, a full 50% increase in Veteran Crisis Line employees. And the funny thing about governments, they want to see a return on investment. Even if they are running at a loss.
Further, veterans can let someone know they are having problems by using insecure means of communication such as phone texts and online chats.
Sec. 2. Suicide Prevention. (a) By December 31, 2012, the Department of Veterans Affairs, in continued collaboration with the Department of Health and Human Services,shall expand the capacity of the Veterans Crisis Line by 50 percent to ensure that veterans have timely access, including by telephone, text, or online chat, to qualified, caring responders who can help address immediate crises and direct veterans to appropriate care. Further, the Department of Veterans Affairs shall ensure that any veteran identifying him or herself as being in crisis connects with a mental health professional or trained mental health worker within 24 hours. The Department of Veterans Affairs also shall expand the number of mental health professionals who are available to see veterans beyond traditional business hours.The government will also being hiring 2,400 counselors and mental health professionals, many who would start at about $80k a year, and would pay off the new employees' student loans to make this all happen. Student loans for such professionals would range between $150,000 to $200,000.
Sec. 4. Expanded Department of Veterans Affairs Mental Health Services Staffing. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs shall, by December 31, 2013, hire and train 800 peer to peer counselors to empower veterans to support other veterans and help meet mental health care needs. In addition, the Secretary shall continue to use all appropriate tools, including collaborative arrangements with community based providers, pay setting authorities, loan repayment and scholarships, and partnerships with health care workforce training programs to accomplish the Department of Veterans Affairs’ goal of recruiting, hiring, and placing 1,600 mental health professionals by June 30, 2013.
But the real issue at hand here is one that is generated by the VA themselves, and not through the “moral weakness” of the veteran.
Suicide is a very serious issue. There are very few people who have not been affected by a suicide by a family member, friend, or acquaintance. But many suicides by veterans are preventable.
