The Declaration of Independence is best remembered as a declaration of war, a war declared on the grounds that we wanted our own flag.

The sheer stupidity and anachronism of the idea serves to discourage any thoughts about why Canada didn’t need a bloody war, whether the U.S. war benefited people outside the new aristocracy to whom power was transferred, what bothered Frederick Douglas so much about a day celebrating “independence,” or what the Declaration of Independence actually said.

When you read the Declaration of Independence, it turns out to be an indictment of King George III for various abuses of power.

And those abuses of power look fairly similar to abuses of power we happily permit U.S. presidents to engage in today, either as regards the people of this nation or the people of territories and nations that our military occupies today in a manner uncomfortably resembling Britain’s rule over the 13 colonies.

The celebration of the Nation's birthday sometimes gets people confused. This day is much more than another holiday from work. It is a recognition of who we are as a People. What it is not is a saint's day for a Government. When the Nation and the Government are spoken in the same breath, most believe they are interchangeable. How mistaken and easily mislead, the public can become.

Yes, a revolution was fought to establish a Free Republic, but that was well over two centuries ago. Articles of Confederation were formed to establish a working relationship among sovereign States. Later a Constitution was ratified that placed specific, distinct and enumerated limitations on the authority to rule of a central government. Functions not named, were left to the individual States. And finally, Bill of Rights Amendments were added and approved that codified guarantees for the protection of the citizen from abuses of that newly created central government.

Up to this point, who would not want to attend the party? Well, the theory is fine; but the acting out of the play, has caused the show to be canceled. Why was the American Revolution fought? The reason was not originally accepted by the public that a new country was the purpose for the conflict. Many sought to negotiate a settlement with the Crown and remain loyal Englishmen. Only a small band raised the banner for self determination. Tories and neutrals were in the majority. Uncertainty prevailed with the gallows the reward for failure. The motivation to dare all was for an idea, not a lust for power. Most of the rebellious vanguard were established leaders and held authority within their circles. But they risked their sacred honor, more precious than their lives for the sake of LIBERTY.

TRUE US Iraq War Deaths 73,000 - Far Past Vietnam Dead

More Gulf War Veterans have died than Vietnam Veterans. This probably is news to you. But the truth has been hidden by a technicality. So here is the truth.

The casualties in the Vietnam War were pretty simple to understand. If a soldier was dead from his combat tour, he was a war casualty. There are 58,195 names recorded on the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC.

Some of these brave men died in the jungles of Vietnam while others died in Medivac units or hospitals in Japan and America. A dead soldier can surrender his life anywhere in his service to his country. It really doesn't matter where this happens. The location of a soldier's death in now way colors his sacrifice to his country.

But something odd has happened with the Iraq War. The government, under the Bush administration, did something dishonest that resulted in a lie that's persisted since the war began -- and continues to this very day. They decided to report the war deaths in Iraq only if the soldier died with his boots on the ground in a combat situation.

What's the difference, you might ask?

The combat in Vietnam was in rural areas, far removed from medical treatment centers. Injured soldiers were treated by a Medic. Most died at the scene of the battle before they could be evacuated. Many died on route or were declared dead at the medical treatment facilities. The situation in Iraq is vastly different.

Fighting in Iraq is mainly in urban areas. Soldiers who are injured are quickly evacuated with armored personnel carriers or helicopters. It's a much more efficient system than what was possible in Vietnam, but for those that are seriously injured it means that death is more likely to happen while they are in transit or at the treatment facility.

Due to this deliberate lack of ethnic distinction in the statistics for the 7 out of every 8 people who were born here, the figures will give many Britons the mistaken idea that those 7 out of every 8 are descended from the indigenous races of Britain, while the truth is far from this figure.

The ONS figures showing that 1 in every 8 people living in the UK is foreign born will include many elderly immigrants who have lived in Britain for decades, but do not reveal the millions of British-born children and grandchildren of these immigrants who are counted in the other 7.

Today is the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and an opportunity to consider what has happened to Great Britain and America since the July 4, 1776. Toby Harnden, the Telegraph’s US editor, reports that the mood in the US is bleak. Many conservatives feel that their country has departed from the principles of its founding fathers: that the state has grown too big and the people have lost faith in the American Way. If they think it’s bad over there, they should visit Britain. America might be piling up debt faster than Elton John on a flower-buying spree, but it can still teach the mother country a thing or two about liberty.

The American Revolution was, in many regards, a British civil war. In 18^thcentury Britain, Parliamentary government was supposed to protect freeborn men from the threat of absolutist monarchy and excessive taxation. However, the British refused to extend Parliamentary representation to the American colonies, creating the unethical paradox of a democratic empire. Edmund Burke, the great grand-daddy of British conservatism, had every sympathy for the American revolt against crippling taxes and restrictions on their right to steal Indian land. In his view “our English brethren in the colonies” were fighting to uphold ancient Anglo-Saxon rights in the face of brutish imperialism by a German-descended king, enforced by “the hireling sword of German boors and vassals”. When the Americans rebelled in 1775, there were plenty of Brits who supported them.

Pathetic NWO Show Trial of Ratko Mladic. He is not allowed to choose his own Defense Lawyers

The former Bosnian Serb military leader yesterday said he would boycott the hearing as he demands the right to select his own lawyers. But the 69-year-old appeared before the UN court in The Hague to request permission to postpone entering a plea. The request was rejected by Judge Alphons Orie who repeatedly had to interrupt and reprimand Mladic for speaking out of turn.

At one point Mladic taunted the judge with the words: "Who are you? You're not allowing me to breathe." He added: "You want to impose my defence, what kind of a court are you?"

The hearing was adjourned after less than half an hour when the judge ordered Mladic to be removed from the courtroom for refusing to remain quiet. The judge then entered not guilty pleas on Mladic's behalf to a series of charges including genocide.

UK GIVES £38M TO ETHIOPIA

Britain is to increase its aid budget to drought-hit Ethiopia, a minister announced yesterday.

Some £38million will be sent to the African country as it battles to find enough food for the 1.3million who are starving as a result of the nation’s worst drought for a decade.

The money comes from the existing aid budget rather than from other areas of public expenditure. It will see the UK’s spend on Ethiopian aid rise by more than ten per cent from £330million to £368million.

There has been growing criticism among Tory backbenchers about the fact that the Government’s aid budget is rising while other departments have seen huge reductions, forcing them to make cuts to front-line services.

Announcing the extra cash for the World Food Programme’s work in the country, International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell said: ‘Through no fault of its own, the Horn of Africa is experiencing a severe drought caused by the failed rains.

Brussels targets UK rebate

'Absurd and ridiculous': Jose Manuel Barroso's comments 

Brussels yesterday provoked fury by launching an ‘absurd and ridiculous’ bid to scrap Britain’s £3.5billion EU rebate.

European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso said the rebate – first secured by Margaret Thatcher and paid in recognition of the raw financial deal Britain gets from Brussels – was hard to justify in the modern world. The former Portuguese prime minister also defended the European Commission’s bid for a 5 per cent overall budget increase, which would land British taxpayers with a fresh £10billion bill.

He claimed Brussels was keeping a ‘tight rein’ on spending and said the budget proposals recognised the ‘austerity’ of the times. But his extraordinary intervention led to renewed calls last night for David Cameron to veto the EU’s budget demands.

Tory MP George Eustice, Mr Cameron’s former press secretary, said: ‘Mr Barroso is living in cloud cuckoo land. The decision about the budget should not be his – Britain has a veto and should use it.’ Britain’s rebate was secured after tough negotiations by Mrs Thatcher in 1984.

Might the tectonic plates of British politics be beginning to shift just a fraction towards a state approximating to reality? The Home Office is shortly to publish a discussion paper about rethinking one section of human rights legislation. 

This is Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees the ‘right to family life’. Increasingly, it is being used by foreign criminals and illegal immigrants to dodge deportation by claiming they have the right to family life in the UK.

But other parts of human rights legislation cause just as much trouble — such as Article 3, which bans inhuman treatment, and which has been similarly used to paralyse deportations of undesirables.

To bring to an end the grotesque carnival of injustice and erosion of Britain’s security caused by human rights law, Britain would have to leave the Human Rights Convention altogether, or at the very least officially derogate from whole sections of the treaty.

But the Government has so far been extremely reluctant to embark on either course, due to the likely political and legal repercussions.

Just a few years ago, British companies were falling over themselves to slash costs by outsourcing call centre work to Third World countries with cheap labour. But now, it seems, the return journey has begun with the news that one firm finds Bombay too expensive and is upping sticks - to Burnley.

New Call Telecom, which competes with BT and Sky to offer home telephone services, broadband and low-cost international calls, is opening a call centre in Lancashire after being attracted by low commercial rents and cheap labour costs. Although staff have to be paid a minimum wage, they are also considered to be more loyal.

Just last week Burnley hit the headlines as home to the ‘cheapest house in Britain’. The two-bedroom terrace property, described as being in need of ‘comprehensive repair and renovation’, was sold for £10,000. It is rock-bottom property prices such as this and high unemployment that have attracted New Call’s chief executive, Nigel Eastwood, to the town.

UK: PRINCESS DIANA DEATH FILM COVER-UP

AN explosive new film which claims Princess Diana was murdered on the orders of the ­British Establishment has been banned in the UK, prompting allegations of a cover-up.

Unless the makers of Unlawful Killing cut 87 scenes from their hard-hitting documentary, it ­cannot legally be screened here. The film’s director, actor Keith Allen, will now show it in Galway, Ireland, which is outside Britain’s legal jurisdiction. He insists the British public has a right to see the full version of his 90-minute film.

“This film is made in Britain but cannot be shown in Britain,” he said. “This has never happened before. But as with so much about Princess Diana the rulebook has been rewritten.”

Mr Allen started making his film in October 2007 at the beginning of the six-month inquest in London into Diana’s death. The film was financed by Mohammed Al Fayed, the former owner of Harrods, whose son Dodi, 42, also died in the crash. But Mr Allen insists that Mr Al Fayed had no other involvement in the production.

UK: Conservatives admit immigration law chaos

The Home Office is to review a central plank of human rights law in an admission that it is causing serious damage to Britain's border controls.

A consultation paper to be launched within days will open up a debate on the future of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees "the right to a family life". 

Article 8 is increasingly being used by foreign criminals and illegal immigrants to dodge deportation.

A highly-placed source told The Sunday Telegraph that the issue would be raised in a paper on immigration to be issued by Home Secretary Theresa May before Parliament breaks up for the summer. It comes as this newspaper can reveal that a new Article 8 test case has created a "loophole" which could allow thousands of asylum seekers granted the right to stay in Britain under the Government's "back door amnesty" to bring their families to this country.


Last week, a separate court ruling left the Home Office unable to deport more than 200 Somali immigrants, most of them criminals, after judges in Strasbourg decided that sending them home would breach Article 3 of the convention, which bans inhumane treatment.

Gaddafi Threatens To Attack Europe - Zionists Jump For Joy

The Libyan leader, sought by the International Criminal Court for a brutal crackdown on anti-government protesters, delivered the warning in a telephone message played to thousands of supporters gathered in the main square of the capital Tripoli.

It was one of the largest pro-government rallies in recent months, signaling that Gaddafi can still muster significant support. A green cloth in Libya's national colour, several hundred meters long and held aloft by supporters, snaked above the crowd filling Tripoli's Green Square.

Gaddafi spoke from an unknown location in a sign of concern over his safety. Addressing the West, he warned that Libyans might take revenge for Nato bombings.

David Cameron has been warned by one of his most trusted cabinet ministers that his welfare policies risk making 40,000 families homeless.

The extraordinary claim, in a letter to the prime minister from the office ofEric Pickles, the communities secretary, exposes deep splits at the heart of government over plans to cap benefit at £500 a week per family.

The letter, leaked to the Observer, reveals Pickles's belief that the cap – announced with great fanfare at last year's Tory conference – will increase the burden on taxpayers, because thousands of families will be unable to pay their rent and will have to seek local government help. It blows apart the government's public insistence that a limit on benefit payments will have little impact on homelessness and child poverty.

UK: Legal aid fees for David Cameron's older lawyer brother hushed up

Alex Cameron QC is a leading criminal lawyer who heads his chambers in London. But a request to disclose his fees under Freedom of Information laws has been blocked by the Justice Ministry. 

David Cameron's barrister brother is at the centre of a row over how much he has been paid in legal aid fees after Ministers blocked attempts to publish details of his public earnings. 

Last night, Tory MP Stuart Jackson said that it was ‘inappropriate’ that 500 barristers earn more than the Prime Minister’s £142,500. A legal source said Alex Cameron, 47, earned up to £1 million a year from a mix of publicly funded and private work.

Mr Jackson said: ‘It should not be necessary to go through Freedom of Information laws to find information about barristers. I shall be taking this further to ensure it is a matter of transparency.’

Alex Cameron and other members of his chambers have written to the Ministry of Justice to raise concerns about the Prime Minister’s plans to cut the legal aid budget by £350 million.

USA: 25% Don't Know US Declared Independence From UK. [WTF are they teaching the kids in America?]

Come Monday fireworks will light up the sky across America and many will enjoy time off work for Independence Day. But shockingly nearly a quarter of Americans don't appear to know who exactly they are celebrating independence from - for the second year in a row. While 76 per cent correctly said Great Britain, 19 per cent were unsure, and 5 per cent mentioned another country.

Last year the same Marist poll showed that 26 per cent of Americans did knot know the answer. 

It was young people letting the side down with 67 per cent of those under 30 giving the right country. This is against 80 per cent of those 60 and older, 77 per cent of those 45 to 59, and 77 per cent of those between 30 and 44. The men polled were more likely to know the correct answer than the women. The same poll also showed that only 58 per cent of Americans know that the declaration came in 1776.

Since NATO’s Operation Unified Protector took over from the American-led Operation Odyssey Dawn on 31 March, the U.S. has flown hundreds of strike missions, according to United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).

The White House originally claimed that U.S. planes were mostly providing intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and played down the number of bombing raids. However AFRICOM spokeswoman Nicole Dalrymple said: 'U.S. aircraft continue to fly support missions, as well as strike sorties under NATO tasking.

The Invasion of Australia: Official. More anti British Propaganda.

The City of Sydney has voted to replace the words “European arrival” in the official record with “invasion”.  The deputy lord mayor, Marcelle Hoff, says it is intellectually dishonest to use any other word in describing how Aboriginal Australia was dispossessed by the British. “We were invaded,” said Paul Morris, an Aboriginal adviser to the council. “It is the truth and it shouldn’t be watered down. We wouldn’t expect Jewish people to accept a watered-down version of the Holocaust, so why should we?”

In 2008, the then prime minister Kevin Rudd formally apologised to Aborigines wrenched from their families as children under a policy inspired by the crypto-fascist theories of eugenics. White Australia was said to be coming to terms with its rapacious past, and present. Was it? The Rudd government, noted a Sydney Morning Herald editorial, “has moved quickly to clear away this piece of political wreckage in a way that responds to some of its supporters’ emotional needs, yet it changes nothing. It is a shrewd manoeuvre.”

The City of Sydney ruling is a very different gesture, and admirable; for it reflects not a liberal and limited “sorry campaign”, seeking feel-good “reconciliation” rather than justice, but counters a cowardly movement of historical revision in which a collection of far-right politicians, journalists and minor academics claimed there was no invasion, no genocide, no Stolen Generation, no racism. 

The platform for these holocaust deniers is the Murdoch press, which has long run its own insidious campaign against the indigenous population, presenting them as victims of each other or as noble savages requiring firm direction: the eugenicists’ view.  Favoured black “leaders” who tell the white elite what it wants to hear while blaming their own people for their poverty, provide a PC cover for a racism that often shocks foreign visitors. Today, the first Australians have one of the shortest life expectancies in the world and are incarcerated at five times the rate of blacks in apartheid South Africa. Go to the outback and see the children blinded by trachoma, a biblical disease, entirely preventable, eradicated in third world countries but not in rich Australia. The Aboriginal people are both Australia’s secret and this otherwise derivative society’s most amazing distinction: the world’s oldest society.
