UK: Families are '£13 ($21.10) a week worse off than they were a year ago'

Families are £13 a week worse off than they were a year ago as prices continue to grow at twice the rate of pay increases.

The typical family saw their disposable income drop by 7.1 per cent or £13 a week during April, compared with the same month of the previous year, according to supermarket group Asda.

The group said steep price rises had led to people typically having just £167 a week left over once they had paid all of their essential outgoings, such as the rent or mortgage, utilities and transport costs. It warned that the situation looked likely to get worse, with inflation as measured by the Consumer Prices Index rising from 4 per cent to 4.5 per cent during April.

US missile plan threatens Russia

Russian General Andrei Tretyak, head of the Armed Forces General Staff Main Operations Directorate (GOU), confirmed his country's position that the deployment of U.S. missile defense systems poses a real threat to Russia's nuclear deterrent.

The general said the threat to Russia's nuclear deterrent will emerge after 2015, when the United States modifies its SM-3 anti-missiles and brings its seaborne missile defense group to 40 ships with 400 interceptor missiles.

Tretyak put special emphasis on the threat posed by missile defense elements on Polish territory.

In a frightening example of how the state is tightening its grip around the free Internet, it has emerged that You Tube is complying with thousands of requests from governments to censor and remove videos that show protests and other examples of citizens simply asserting their rights, while also deleting search terms by government mandate.

The latest example is You Tube’s compliance with a request from the British government to censor footage of the British Constitution Group’s Lawful Rebellion protest, during which they attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court.

One of the defectors also claimed that Iran was involved in designing the attacks, the filing said. The defectors' identities and testimony were not revealed in the filing but were being submitted to a judge under seal, said lawyers who brought the original suit against Iran on behalf of families of dozens of September 11 victims.

The suit says Iran and Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group with close ties to Tehran, helped al-Qaeda with planning the attacks and with the hijackers' training and travel. After the attacks, the suit says, Iran and Hezbollah helped al-Qaeda operatives and their families to escape, in some cases providing them with a safe haven in Iran.

Libya - 60-Day 'War Powers' Expire, Lawmakers Silent

U.S. operations in Libya hit the 60-day mark Friday, but Congress has grown largely silent on the administration’s unilateral intervention into the war-torn North African nation.

The 1973 War Powers Act (WPA) — the statute President Obama invoked when he launched forces in March — requires presidents to secure congressional approval for military operations within 60 days, or withdraw forces within the next 30. 

Congress did not authorize the mission — which includes a no-fly zone, bombing raids, a sea blockade and civilian-protection operations — but the deadline has stirred little sense of urgency on Capitol Hill. 


House lawmakers are in the midst of a weeklong recess. And the Senate, which stuck around, is also unlikely to address the issue this week, according to Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.), the chairman of the Armed Services Committee.

Vital for the Control System (the very few) to make slaves of the people (the enormous many) is to ensure that the people perceive and decode reality only through the lens of mind-body and maintain a life-time disconnection from the influence of their true and eternal self – Consciousness. When you retain the connection between mind-body (the computer) and Consciousness (the one at the desk with the mouse and keyboard) you have everything you need. Mind-body ‘logs’ you on to the Cosmic Internet and allows you to interact with its frequency range, but Consciousness gives you the bigger picture, the wider perspective, that the five senses cannot see.

Then, of course, there’s the presidential campaign of Newt Gingrich, a poster child for bad behavior, launched last week with a series of disastrous missteps and rationalizations.

What the three men have in common, aside from wielding more influence than they can handle or deserve, is that their serial misbehavior went unchecked for years. In fact, it was rationalized as mere exuberance, frequently excused in “exceptional” people, when it actually demonstrated something else – ruling class impunity.

In the week a gang of Romanian gypsies was jailed for an £800,000 benefits fraud, Sue Reid reveals the loophole in British law that allows taxpayers' money to be funnelled into a gaudy mansion and BMWs back in the East.

On a windy street corner in Bradford, West Yorkshire, a woman wears a lacy black headscarf and touts copies of The Big Issue, the magazine sold by the homeless. She has travelled 40 miles across the Pennines from Manchester, where she lives with her eight children, to sell as many copies as possible at £2 each.

But all is not as it seems. For 32-year-old Contessa Calinescu is a Romanian gypsy and is not homeless. In fact, she was driven to Bradford from Manchester, where the rent on her home is paid by taxpayers via welfare payments. She also claims nearly £500 a month in benefits for her large brood of children. Like hundreds of other Roma women, she is exploiting a loophole in the law, in order to claim huge amounts of benefits.

Romanians who have migrated to Britain are restricted from claiming benefits — unlike other East European nations which joined the EU three years earlier. But in a sophisticated scam, many Romanians have circumvented the system by claiming to be ‘self-employed’ Big Issue sellers — a status which entitles them to a National Insurance number and to claim the full panoply of welfare benefits, such as rent payments, council tax rebates and child benefits.

According to the Department of Work and Pensions’ website, Romanians working ‘in a self-employed capacity’ can claim housing and council tax benefit and child benefits. As a result, Romanians are gleefully exploiting our generosity. A migrant advice organisation states: ‘The easiest way for Romanians to get access to the benefits system is to become self-employed.’

The Indian head of an international steel company has branded British workers 'lazy' and 'unwilling to go the extra mile', a day after his firm announced the axeing of 1,500 staff.

Businessman Ratan Tata said British managers did not compare favourably with their Indian counterparts, blasting staff he had met at Corus and Jaguar Land Rover, two companies Tata bought in recent years. His comments came after his steel giant firm Tata announced the cutting of 1,500 posts from its three UK factories in economically deprived areas of England.

The Indian firm said it was proposing to close or mothball part of its Scunthorpe plant, putting at risk 1,200 jobs, as well as cutting 300 jobs at its sites on Teesside.

MY BROTHER ASKED me the other day if I knew anything about this Christian sect going around the country saying the End of the World was going to occur this Saturday night. I told him I heard something, but hadn’t really gave it much attention since they might be right and wanted to spend my time gearing up, blowing all my dough and getting seriously plastered. And yeah, you’re right: I don’t really need any End of the World business as an excuse for any of that.
Just kidding. Sure, these people might be on to something — who knows? One thing I do know: I sincerely doubt I’m much of a candidate for rapture.

This particular Christian group is not a church at all, because they think organized religion is under the control of Beezlebub. That’s not much of a stretch, considering the insanely misplaced loyalty the fooled Christian Zionists give that evil little country of Israel and the all-too-often Christian-hating Jews.

The “rapture” is scheduled to begin at 6 pm in the Pacific rim area and follow each time zone to the west. All the righteous will be beamed heavenward, or possibly croak dead on the spot. If I’m flying, I sure hope my pilot is a seriously satanic type.

After all the beaming business, the rest of us sinners still here are due for some God-awful hell on Earth until this October, when the whole bailiwick will explode in a sheer cataclysm of Biblical destruction. Those of us who manage to survive the hordes of hungry and crazed Negroes — fresh from looting all the tennis shoe and hip-hop urban fashion stores — will get crushed like bugs as the planet breaks up into giant chunks of spinning space debris.

An Amazonian tribe has been discovered that has no concept of time or dates, scientists said today.

The Amondawa people of Brazil do not even have words for 'time', 'week', 'month' or 'year', said Chris Sinha, of the University of Portsmouth. He argues that it is the first time scientists have been able to prove time is not a deeply entrenched universal human concept, as previously thought.

Professor Sinha, who reported his findings in the journal Language And Cognition, said: 'For the Amondawa, time does not exist in the same way as it does for us.

'We can now say without doubt that there is at least one language and culture which does not have a concept of time as something that can be measured, counted or talked about in the abstract. This doesn't mean that the Amondawa are "people outside time", but they live in a world of events, rather than seeing events as being embedded in time.'

Filmmaker's Hitler Comments Boot Him From Cannes

At a news conference for the film Wednesday, von Trier spoke about his German heritage, and in a rambling speech said he understood and sympathized with Hitler. The director said afterward he had been joking and later issued an apology.

Thierry Fremaux, the general director at Cannes, said von Trier told festival officials that he "accepts the punishment."

"He's upset by this matter," Fremaux said. "He recognized that the festival had to take a firm position in regards to his comments."

Jacob said the board considered throwing "Melancholia" out of the festival but it decided to "distinguish between the work and the person."

The decision should not affect the nine-member jury's deliberations, Fremaux said, adding, they "must judge the films in all sovereignty according to whatever criteria they like." He added that the festival's organizers "don't have direct contact" with the jury, which is headed by Robert De Niro and includes Uma Thurman and Jude Law.

USA: TSA morons conduct bomb drill in Minnesota airport, but don't tell police

With their guns draw and packing live ammo, police officers at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport surrounded a man smuggling a bomb in a carry-on bag. Although details are sketchy because the TSA is trying to downplay this incident, the cops were no doubt yelling at the man to hit the floor and surrender. Had this man acted in any sort of threatening-looking way, the cops would have certainly opened fire on him.

This all took place at a TSA security checkpoint at the airport. There's only one problem with it: The whole thing was a TSA security drill -- but nobody informed the cops!

WARNING: Could a mind-reading machine soon be a reality? Scientists 'decode' human brainwaves

A 'mind-reading machine' that can display mental images is a step closer after scientists decoded brain signals related to vision, it was claimed today.

Researchers from the University of Glasgow showed six volunteers images of people's faces displaying different emotions such as happiness, fear and surprise. In a series of trials, parts of the images were randomly covered so that, for example, only the eyes or mouth were visible.

Participants were then asked to identify the emotion being displayed while electrodes attached to the scalp measured the volunteers' brainwaves. The scientists were able to show that brainwaves varied greatly according to which part of the face was being looked at. 'Beta' waves, with a frequency of 12 hertz, carried information about the eyes, while four hertz 'theta' waves were linked to the mouth.

USA: We can’t trust our own government

While many individuals and groups have waged a constant and frustrating battle against the coming total seizure and control of food production as practiced by family farmers and ranchers historically, several questions have gone unanswered.  The biggest of all of course is, why? 

Common sense, combined with critical and analytical thinking, cannot produce a rational answer for the onslaught of legislation, expansion of government agencies known for their incompetence and waste, and the complicity of state governments.  
What is this all about?  

I believe the answer to at least a portion of it, reared its ugly and threatening head during the September 23, 2010 Senate meeting, where Senator Durbin speculated that what might be needed is one agency to oversee all food production; for safety and efficiency, of course!   

This comment was not just speculative, nor was it incidental or coincidental. This is exactly where the government intends to go as they move to erect barriers to anything other than corporate industrialized farming and ranching, practiced by multinational corporations and bio-pirates and facilitated by unlawful international agreements and willing participants in congress. These same “stakeholders” are now at the congressional doors with the expectations of collecting on their investments.

UK: Vast factory farms a step closer after ministers order research into ‘sustainable intensification’ of the livestock industry

A new generation of vast pig and dairy factory farms look set be built. Ministers have ordered a research project on how to pursue what they call ‘sustainable intensification’ of the livestock industry. In practice this will mean the building of mega dairy farms, or units, populated by as many as 8,000 cows that are milked around the clock and spend most of their lives inside.

These so-called zero grazing or battery cow systems are highly controversial and one scheme, at Nocton, Lincolnshire, has already been defeated by public opposition. However, it is clear the Government is keen to support this kind of factory farming as part of a drive to provide cheap food.

UK: Mobile wallet offered to UK shoppers

The first service that allows users to pay for purchases via their mobile phone has been launched in the UK.

Among shops signed up to the system are McDonalds, EAT, Pret-a-Manger and some Boots stores. Users wishing to use the system - dubbed Quick Tap - will need Orange and Barclaycard accounts as well as a handset set up for contactless payments. The idea of the mobile wallet is gaining popularity around Europe.

The service is made possible by Near Field Communication (NFC), the short-range wireless technology that underpins many wireless payment systems. Quick Tap is a collaboration between Orange and Barclaycard. It will require a NFC-enabled Samsung Tocco Lite handset, which also goes on sale on Friday.

Last Sunday night, as I was walking down the street with my friends from church, I observed two of the group strangely walking almost hand in hand. It took a couple hours and questioning others to figure out that the tallish, statuesque, Swedish girl and the shorter, two-thirds-her-weight East Asian man were a couple.

This was the result of several things and physical attraction was not one of them. She was able to get a very good job right after university in accounting, receiving the benefits of femalehood in both university and the job market. He comes from wealth and doesn't have to work. She is not interested in men of lesser income. And she is a leader-in-training in a very multi-cultural church and now is taking that "next step" of entering into inter-racial marriage. And he has his trophy white wife. This is the white race fading into oblivion.

The five white guys walking behind her, all struggling to make a living with neither the time nor the money to date, are out of the picture. They are men who can't compete financially and who would ask for submission anyway. But then society turns to us white dudes and points out our options. We can also marry Asian women (or from any other part of the globe)!

But I can't and all because I rejected socialism. Around 20 years ago, I had made the momentous decision to reject socialism for a number of reasons - love of country and concern for national debt, seeing what socialism did to my own family and community, and not wanting so much government control.

UK: New Trident fleet cost will top £25bn

The cost of a new fleet of Trident nuclear missile submarines could more than double to £25bn by the time they are built, the defence secretary, Liam Fox, told MPs. The figure was released as the Ministry of Defence announced significant new funding for a new Trident system even though, at the Lib Dems' behest, a final decision is not due to be taken until after the next general election. The figure does not include the price of warheads, the running costs, and the bill for leasing Trident missiles from the US.

In a concession to the Liberal Democrats, Fox announced that officials will draw up a study into alternative ways of delivering nuclear weapons. However, he made it clear that, in his view, only ballistic missiles on Trident-class submarines could provide the UK with a "minimal credible nuclear deterrent".

UK: No need for inquest on [Murdered] Dr Kelly says PM, leading to anger as Cameron appears to pre-judge review

David Cameron has said that he didn’t believe a full inquest into the death of weapons expert Dr David Kelly was necessary.

The Prime Minister – apparently pre-empting the findings of an official review of the Kelly file by the Attorney General – said he did not think it was ‘necessary to take that case forward’. His comments were criticised by doctors campaigning for a proper inquest into Dr Kelly’s apparent suicide.

Dr Michael Powers, QC, said: ‘The opinion of David Cameron on whether there should be a fresh inquest into the death of Dr Kelly is irrelevant. It is not a political matter. It is a question of law.’

If Attorney General Dominic Grieve decides against holding an inquest, the doctors could mount a legal challenge to the decision, on the grounds that Mr Cameron has pre-judged the outcome.

Dr Kelly is said to have killed himself in woods near his Oxfordshire home in July 2003 after being named as the prime source of a BBC report accusing the Labour government of lying to take Britain into war in Iraq. Uniquely for a suspicious death, no coroner’s inquest has been held. Instead, the public inquiry into his death chaired by Lord Hutton found he committed suicide by taking painkillers and cutting his wrist with a blunt knife.

The title of recent news articles say Jewish congressional candidate, Dan Adler “targets Asians with bizarre ad.” That title should instead read “Dan Adler Targets Asians with Racist Ad.”

It appears that he is stereotyping Asians and faces flack for his condescending approach to them. Perhaps the thought should occur to people that much racial impropriety by people who appear “White” are actually done by people who are Jews.

Adler states in his ad that “I definitely approve this message.” What does he approve? With this video ad [embedded below], expressing that he is Jewish, he approves that minorities “should stick together”– and the unspoken is against, who else, but majority Whites; implying that White people should be excluded; that he will represent minorities over Whites; that minorities should encourage thoughts and acts of racism toward Whites, at a minimum denying them adequate representation. Dan Adler’s campaign presents a clear message of his intentions to disenfranchise a majority group of people based on their race: people of European descent.

In the past week, mainstream media has released that in ten states, White children under age 18 are now the minority. How does Adler’s ad, a thinly veiled statement of prejudice towards Whites, fit in with that reality? Adler is a supporter of immigration reform and the DREAM act, which will hasten the demise of Westernization, Western values, and yes, White people as a race. His intent clearly is to make a shrinking race of Whites utter strangers in their own land. Indeed, for many of us, we already are.

Adding to the seriousness of all this is the fact that Whites are disallowed any claims to being victimized on account of their race – ever. It is extremely difficult to win an argument that Whites are often victims on account of their race, let alone stop actual disenfranchisement, loss of equity, and violence.

CDC Warns Public to Prepare for 'Zombie Apocalypse'

Are you prepared for the impending zombie invasion?

That's the question posed by the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention in a Monday blog posting gruesomely titled, "Preparedness 101: Zombie Apocalypse." And while it's no joke, CDC officials say it's all about emergency preparation.

"There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for," the posting reads.

"Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That's right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency."

The post, written by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan, instructs readers how to prepare for "flesh-eating zombies" much like how they appeared in Hollywood hits like "Night of the Living Dead" and video games like Resident Evil. Perhaps surprisingly, the same steps you'd take in preparation for an onslaught of ravenous monsters are similar to those suggested in advance of a hurricane or pandemic.
